Subject registration is a process should be done by the student for every semester where the student will get the information on the subject they will be taking for the particular semester.
The academic calendar holds all the important dates for the entire academic year. In NMUC, the Academic year consists of 3 semesters of study. Important dates such as intake registration, class commence, class end, final examination dates, study week, mid-term break, semester break, public holiday and etc.
The fees are different for each course. Each student will be provided with a fee structure according to their course. All students and parents need to sign the fee structure during the registration day. Detailed information will be provided by the Finance department during the student induction program.

Registration would need verification by Unversity (NMUC). Where STAAR will register the student information into Barracuda Systems to ensure that the student will get the Official Letter of Offer. All the personal details of students will be generated by Barracuda systems and the information is private and confidential.
A process where students will officially enrol as NMUC students. After the student being activated all relevant information will be shared such as Study Fees, Program Structure, Program Outline, Academic Sessions Semester and Intake.
Student will be given the student identification during their study in NMUC.

Counselling is a process in which two people meet to explore personal problems and to identify solutions. It is a process where two-way communications happen between client and counsellor in a therapeutic environment and session. The objective of counselling is to help the client clarify the issues, gain insight into feelings and thoughts and deal effectively in handling problems.
Mr. John Legierse had several marketing manager positions over the past 30 years, among others at Peterson Group, Rotterdam International Safety Center (RISC), International Maritime College Oman for STC Group, and as project manager for VSTEP, PSIC (Public Security Innovation Center) and for the Training & Consultancy Department of Singapore Salvage Engineers, building up to over 30 years of extensive experience in the South East Asia Region, particularly in the maritime related and safety sector.
As co-founder of NMUC, he has been working closely with Pelorus in the past, and is presently active as Business Associate and Business Development Advisor at NMIT Training & Consultancy Department.
Ir. (Dr.) Hj. Mohamed Zohari is a qualified engineer by profession. He graduated from Pennslyvania State University, USA with a M.Sc in Petroleum & Natural Gas Engineering. He was an Associate Professor and Head of Department for Petroleum & Natural Gas Engineering at University Technology Malaysia and the Vice President, Exploration & Production Division and Technology Resource Management Division at PETRONAS.
Ir. (Dr.) Hj. Mohamed Zohari had served as a member of PETRONAS Management Committee, Chairman of PETRONAS Research & Scientific Services Sdn. Bhd. and Board Member of PERMATA, ALAM, INSTEP, PCSB (Holding), PCSB (Overseas Companies), OGPSB, PTSSB, Sauber PETRONAS Engineering (SPE), University Technology PETRONAS (UTP) and PETRONAS Maritime Services.
Mr. Jan Albert Soer is a highly respected former Dutch diplomat who had served in more than 10 countries over his colorful 40 years service in Dutch Foreign Ministry. He began his career as a draft in the Royal Netherlands Air Force and later on as diplomat in Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Netherlands in Turkey, Lebanon, Sweden, Saudi Arabia, Oman and Singapore.
From 1994 to 1998, he served as Dutch Consul in Dubai, UAE before heading on to become Deputy Head of Mission in Kuwait and Hong Kong. He retires in 2012 as Deputy Head of Mission in Malaysia before joining NMIT as Senior Strategy Advisor.
Mr. Guus Verhagen brings with him over 40 years of experience in the maritime industry, having worked in various senior capacities in shipping agencies, forwarding and stevedoring companies all over the world. In year 2000, he was invited to become a senior consultant at the Shipping and Transport College in Rotterdam. From 2005 to 2013, he had served as the Managing Director of Maritiem Instituut De Ruyter in Vlissingen.
Later in 2014, Mr. Verhagen founded his own stevedoring and consultancy company and since then, he has been providing solutions and project management services throughout Europe. Besides attending to his own private practice, Mr. Verhagen is also actively supporting the work of the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) through many international initiatives.
Professor Dato’ Ir. Dr. Abdul Aziz Ibrahim has over 40 years of experience in higher education both in public and private institutions. Prof. Aziz served as the Vice Chancellor of Universiti Industri Selangor (UNISEL) from 2005 till 2009. Prior to administering UNISEL, he held professorial post in University Technology Malaysia (UTM) for 15 years.
From 1995 – 2000 he was appointed as the pioneering Director – General of National Hydraulic Research Institute, Malaysia (NAHRIM), in charge of the national research and development (R & D) in water, coastal and offshore sectors. He was also the founder and the pioneering director of the Coastal and Offshore Engineering Institute (1990-1995), which majors mainly in reclamation, dredging and other coastal and offshore engineering, computer modelling and environmental R&D and consultancy river and flood services.
Datuk Dr. Asharuddin Ahmad possesses over three decades (30 years) of extensive experience in the fields of education, training, and consultancy. He has held pivotal leadership roles in various educational institutions, contributing significantly to their technical and operational advancements.
In his distinguished career, he served as the Executive Director at SEGi University and its affiliated colleges. He also played a vital role on the Board of Wawasan Open University and assumed the positions of Chief Executive Officer and Principal at multiple colleges.
His consultancy expertise has benefited a diverse range of clients, including multinational corporations, public listed companies, government and semi-government organizations, as well as private entities. Notable clients include Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur, Tenaga Nasional, Telekom, Lembaga Pertubuhan Peladang, IBM, Maxis, among others.
Academically, Datuk Dr. Asharuddin is an alumnus of the University of Wales, United Kingdom, where he earned his Ph.D., and holds a Master of Science in Strategic Management from the University of Strathclyde, United Kingdom.
His accomplishments have been recognized with several prestigious awards and positions. In 2020, he was honored with the National Outstanding Entrepreneur Lifetime Award. He is a Senior Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, United Kingdom, a Fellow of the British Institute of Management, an Adjunct Professor at SUC California, and serves as a Visiting Lecturer at various UK universities.
Dr. Ahmad’s professional engagements extend to being the Vice President of Persatuan Perdagang dan Ushawan Nasional (PERDANA). He has previously chaired the Forest Plantation under the auspices of the Ministry of Plantation and Commodity and was a board member of the Malaysian Timber Board. He is also highly active in social responsibility initiatives and maintains a vast network among corporate and governmental sectors.
Dato’ Captain Razali Yaacob graduated with a Master’s Degree in Maritime, Education & Training (Nautical) from the World Maritime University at Malmo, Sweden and is a qualified Master Mariner. Dato’ Captain Razali has spent about 40 years of his career in the maritime industry. He was a Seafarer with MISC, Senior Lecturer and Head of Department at Akademi Laut Malaysia (ALAM), Marine Supervisor with Esso Production (M) Incorporated, R & D Director and Managing Director of PELORUS; and more notably as Founder and Executive Chairman of NMUC.
Dato’ Captain Razali has designed and developed many pioneering programmes in the country and has served as consultant for many national and international projects in Asia and the Middle East.
Professor Dr. Captain Stephen Cross is a highly experienced professional leader with global experience in higher maritime education system and management. He had served as Managing Director of Maritiem Instituut Willem Barentsz, overseeing a wide range of major developmental projects, academic management, ventures and fund acquisition, business development and R & D at international level.Prof. Cross also has broad teaching experience in higher international maritime education. He is currently serving as visiting professor at the World Maritime University in Malmo covering a diverse research and teaching interest in the field of shipping management, port management and maritime simulation training. He is a much sought after consultant to establish maritime institutes across the world.

Education withdrawal:
This withdrawal allows the contributor to utilize their savings in Account 2 to finance the education of their children’s education (including step-children and legally adopted children) at an Institution of Higher Learning either locally or abroad.
Eligibility:
A Malaysian Citizen; OR a Malaysian Citizen who has made Leaving The Country Withdrawal before 1 August 1995 and later opted to re-contribute to the EPF; OR a Non-Malaysian Citizen who:
has become an EPF member before 1 August 1998; OR
has obtained a Permanent Resident status (PR);
has not reached the age of 55 on the date the application is received by EPF; AND
still have savings in Account 2.

PTPTN functions:
to manage funds for tertiary education purposes and collecting repayments of financing;
to provide and manage education savings schemes;
to perform such other functions as a conferred on PTPTN by any written law.
Education financing application conditions are as follow:
Citizen of Malaysia;
Passed SPM with minimum 3 credits in any subjects;
Does not exceed 45 years of age on the date of application;
Been offered a place at IPTA/ IPTS and Polytechnic by fulfilling entry requirements determined by the Ministry of Education and Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA);
The course pursued must have registration approval from the Ministry of Education;
For IPTS students, the course pursued must have the Certificate of Accreditation from the MQA and still valid on the date of application;
For a student who has other qualifications, a verification must be obtained from the department or agency as stated above;
The remaining period of study at the time of application should not be less than one (1) year;
Has no other sponsor(s);
Has opened SSPN-i account.
For the student who has been granted the PTPTN loan before and quit or has been dismissed from another institution, all the outstanding balance must be settled first before applying for the second time.
